Our Team

Say hello to the core leadership team at Hope!

STEVE TALBOT

Lead Pastor/Rolleston Site Pastor

  • Hey, I'm Steve. My wife Tara and I have been part of Hope for years and we love sharing our faith and this community with our two boys, Jonty and Liam. When I'm not diving into deep theological conversations or leading our team through endless strategy discussions, you'll catch me spiking volleyballs or campervanning on my way to outsmart the wiliest of fish. And don't let my serious preaching game face fool you – I'm a board game aficionado, turning a game of 500 into a spirited showdown of strategy and laughter.

MARTY REDHEAD

Hornby Site Pastor

  • Kia ora, ko Marty ahau. I’m married to Steph and we have 3 children Ella, Josiah and Archie. My turangawaewae is Gore, Southland where my roots go deep and it still has a place in my heart. I’ve been walking with Jesus all my life and I find the Word of God enriching, deep and transformational and I’m passionate about preaching and pastoring to the people of God.

MARK AMBUNDO

West Melton/Halkett Site Pastor

GERALD BRADFIELD

Executive Pastor

  • I am married to Elizabeth, and we have three adult sons. We have been part of the Hope family since moving to Rolleston in September 2015. As Executive Pastor, I am responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Trusts, Property, Administration, Technology, Risk Management, and the pastoral care of the people in those teams. In my spare time I love spending time with family and friends, gardening, motorcycling and being involved in music at church.

  • Hi there, thanks for passing by. My name is Mark and I am married to Jennifer, we have two young boys who keep us busy enough to remind us we are not getting younger! Kenya is our country of origin and being in Aotearoa continues to be a cross-cultural adventure of utmost delight, except winter time! I take great joy in my identity as a child of God and consider it an honour to be part of the pastoral team at Hope Presbyterian, specifically serving the West Melton and Halkett congregations. It’s a delight of mine to support folk to connect with God and others more deeply. Outside church work I enjoy playing basketball, travelling, listening to podcasts on politics and I’m trying to get into astronomy!
