Why begin the year with three weeks of prayer?
We begin the year with concerted prayer because what matters most in life cannot be produced by man, but only by God:
- new birth
- conviction for sin
- faith in Christ
- a clean conscience
- warm-hearted devotion to Jesus
- love for the body of Christ
- zeal for justice and purity
- intensity in worship
- boldness and meekness in witness to unbelievers
- fervour for cross cultural missions—for finishing the work the Lord has given us to do in the world
Over the next three weeks we will be focusing our Sunday teaching on prayer. We will also be holding worship and prayer nights as part of The Living Room sermon series at this time. Each week we will be putting out a prayer diary so that you can pray with us at home. The prayer diary contains prayer points for each day of the week. If you’ve missed out you can read them online or download them below.
For those that would like to, we will be holding 12 ‘o clock Drop on weekdays in the Hornby office. Join us at 12pm for half an hour of prayer and praise. No matter where you are, we encourage you to “drop tools” with us and pray.
We will be holding corporate prayer meetings on Wednesday nights at Hornby. The majority of our regular prayer meetings at Hornby, West Melton and Rolleston will also be starting up at this time. For a timetable of our prayer meetings please see the church calendar or refer to the table below.
If you have a prayer request and would like us to pray with you or if you would like to pray for some of the requests that have come through, please check out our Prayer Wall.
