Horizons Oscar Programme Supervisor

Horizons Oscar are looking for a new Programme Supervisor.  Do you enjoy working with children and being part of a team?  Horizons Oscar offers before school, after school and school holiday programme care.  We run from three sites within the Hornby area.  We are a non-profit organisation working under the umbrella of Hornby Presbyterian Community Trust, with a vision to see primary and intermediate aged children enjoy their before school/after school/holiday programme experience in a safe and loving environment at an affordable rate for our parents/caregivers.  Location – Hornby, Christchurch.  Hours – 1:30pm – 5:30pm Monday – Friday school term Time and 1 week of School Holidays 8am – 5:30pm Monday – Friday.  The ideal applicant must be at least 20 years of age to work as a Supervisor and have had previous experience working with children.  The successful applicant for this role will have good initiative with the ability to see things that need action and/or attention and implement. Good interpersonal skills for dealing with a wide variety of people.  Ability to work well in a team environment.  A love for children and proven gifting in communicating with and relating to them.  An ability to effectively lead and develop staff and volunteers.  Ability to create a nurturing, fun environment for children to grow and develop.  First Aid Certificate or willing to do a first aid certificate.  Preferred full drivers licence.

Hope Presbyterian Youth Director

Hope Presbyterian is seeking to appoint a Youth Director to lead, inspire, direct, manage and pastorally care for the team of Hope youth workers across three sites and a large team of volunteers.   This is a full-time leadership role reporting to the Senior Pastor.  The Youth Director is a member of the Core Leadership Team that is led by the Senior Pastor.

We need a Director who has strengths, experience and evidence of success in the following areas:  visionary and strong leadership, developing a coherent and effective youth strategy, building a cohesive and effective team, communications, administration, connecting with NZ Youth, planning and organising, pastoral care, connecting with community and business leaders, giving clear direction and maintaining high standards of accountability.  The Director will be required to build open and effective working relationships with the local pastor at each site.  Successful experience in the funding and grants applications process would be very desirable.

We are looking for an experienced Director who is sustained by a deep personal Christian faith, who has an empathy for those who work with youth, and who will develop and maintain spiritual and personal disciplines and a work – life balance that contributes to long term, sustainable ministry.

It is expected that the Director would commit to worshipping within the Hope context.

To be eligible to apply, you must hold NZ Residency and have a full NZ drivers’ licence.  As a condition of your appointment, you must successfully complete NZ Police vetting.

This position commences on 18 December 2017 for handover purposes.
